Welcome to the 2019-2020 academic year here at Griffin!
Dear Griffin Community
Thank you for finding your way to our website and taking the trouble to check in with us - may I offer you all a very warm welcome to the 2019-2020 academic year at Griffin.
We hope you will find our website informative and interesting – whether you are a student, parent/ carer, potential member of our community or someone just interested in the life of Griffin.
We had a really interesting and positive year and ended the term with some good Y6 Test results and a super sense of positivity about our work. We have much to look forward to and an exciting move forward is the development of our Curriculum model.
Last year we loved our Inside Out Fridays and developing the confidence and independence of our students through our ICB activities, our linked learning and enjoying many opportunities to enhance our English and Maths progress. The Year of Colour has now arrived here at Griffin and we are set to explore our subject areas and engage with the world with this theme at the centre. It will drive forward our Forest School initiative too. It is a joy to see our students engage with the environment and take their learning outside the classroom.
This year we have set our key priorities, set our targets, created a plan and we now can’t wait to put it all into action and make it happen! ArtsMark accreditation, matched English & Maths attainment and Sporting successes are all within our reach as we urge our students ‘Give your Best & Get the Best’.
We have our parents/ carers working with us, a growing PSA and of course, we will continue to work very closely with Greenside as our Federation partner. For more information about Greenside please check out the website: www.greensideschool.org.
If you are a Griffin parent/ carer and would like to get involved in the important work they are planning this year please contact Luke Campbell, Interim Head of School: email@example.com. They do such valuable work in raising money and helping with extra opportunities for our students.
If you are a potential parent/ carer please contact Luke Campbell to find out more and book a visit - we are sure you will love Griffin as much as we do: firstname.lastname@example.org,
If you wish to find out more about our Curriculum, Arts Work or Forest School please contact Louise Black (Deputy Head):
We will be welcoming a couple of new teachers at Griffin this September but we are delighted that so many of our fab members of our team will be returning and we will have the chance to build on our best practice from last year – having a consistent group of teachers is important as we look to surge forward with improvements again! If you are a potential member of staff and would like to find out more about Griffin, GGL or The Elliot Foundation please contact me: email@example.com
Finally to our new and current Griffin parents/ carers welcome to the new academic year. Do check out our Letter Home on Friday 5th September and then keep up-to-date via our Newsletters, Meetings and other Workshops.
Have a wonderful year ahead!
Karen Bastick-Styles (Executive Head) GGL – Greenside and Griffin
