Dear Friends of Griffin,

I am pleased to welcome you all to our Griffin website.

We are ready to begin another summer term with all the joys that being together on site and in our Forest in the City will allow us.

We ended the spring term with some lovely Family Assembly sharing events where our Griffin students proudly showed their knowledge of their Sharing the Planet learning; we heard songs, saw art work and STEAM projects and heard the story of Hamlet with a unique Y6 interpretation. It was great to see how accomplished our students have become since the start of the academic year.

Our Y6 students have only 13 weeks left with us and we are sure they will enjoy every day. We wish them all a very happy final term on their Griffin journey - oh how the years have flown! They are, of course getting ready for their Key Stage 2 tests and preparing for secondary school too.

We are expecting lots of new families in Nursery and Reception for September 2022. If you have been offered a place for September and you are reading this as one of our new families we will be in touch very soon with our arrangements to invite you to meet us again in the summer and to get ready for the next academic year. We offer you a warm welcome to Griffin and look forward to seeing you all soon!

In Nursery we offer free full time places for students who have had their 3rd birthday. This class also get to spend lots of time learning outside in the Forest so it’s a great place to be.

With the movement amongst some of our families during the post-Covid period, we do have spaces in other years too. If you are interested in talking, visiting or applying, please contact me asap: karenbs@griffinprimary.org. If you know anyone looking for a local school please pass on this information.

We have one more term of our Year of Change and as we move to the theme of How We Express Ourselves, we will be - celebrating 70 years of Griffin and how the world has changed during that time and exploring the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

We have lots of trips and visits around London planned and a Sports Day in July that we look forward to sharing with our families again!

We will be working with Good Chance to fundraise for one of our favourite charities, and we have a wonderful day planned at The Leicester Square Comedy Theatre. We are organizing a Dance Celebration for our London TEFAT academies and some of our Y6 Griffin students will be performing an original piece of dance.

As always, if you have any questions about anything we do at Griffin, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will get back to you asap.

Wishing you all a happy summer term 2022.
