Phonic and Reading Schemes

Phonics and reading schemes (EYFS and KS1)

Students are taught phonics using the Department for Education’s Letters and Sounds synthetic phonics programme. Reading is taught through whole-class shared reading of high quality and engaging texts, guided reading sessions with the class teacher in small groups and one-to-one reading with support staff.  Oxford Reading Tree books and online Bug Club texts are used for reading at home. Rigby Education books and Ruth Miskin Reading books are used for Guided Reading sessions at school.

In Key Stage 1 and 2 we access resources from CLPE's ‘Power of Reading’.
