Governance Statement

Governance across the GGL Federation ( Greenside & Griffin )

The GGL Federation has one Local Governing Body with responsibility for governance across both schools.

Our key strategic aims in bringing the schools together were to allow greater opportunities for all involved to develop as a result of working in partnership along with providing a more sustainable model at all levels going forwards.

Our focus is on supporting each school to achieve the best possible outcomes for every student across the federation. We do this by setting and modelling high expectations, evidencing clarity as to our role and responsibilities at a local level and against the Scheme of Delegation and by working with all stakeholders to understand our schools and what next steps are needed to further improve.

Our Local Governing Body comprises nine governors with representation from staff, parents and local community. We are absolutely delighted that each school enjoys equal representation at meetings and this reflects our commitment to working to support all across the federation.

We have a Lead Governor for each school who works closely with their respective Head of School along with our Chair of Governors who works alongside the Executive Principal.

Chair of Governors – Jem Shuttleworth ( jem.shuttleworth@elliotfoundation.co.uk )

Executive Principal – Karen Bastick-Styles ( kbs@greensideschool.org )

Lead Governor for Greenside – Andy Meeson ( andym@greensideschool.org )

Lead Governor for Griffin – Nick Flesher ( nickf@greensideschool.org )

The other members of our Local Governing Body are –

Rachel Dean

Christina Morra

Sophie Weitzman

The two schools work to the policies and practice of The Elliot Foundation Multi Academy Trust which are available on the Trust website and on the individual policy pages for each of the schools.
