Lunchtime Meals

School Dinners

Children at Griffin Primary School are eligible to have a school meal free of charge (except Nursery pupils), funded by either the Universal or Mayor's Universal Free School Meals Schemes.

We ask that you maintain your child’s meal pattern, as our caterers need to plan their numbers in advance. If you wish to change your child’s lunch pattern, please speak to the School Office.

This is the current menu provided by Harrison Catering.

School meals always include a vegetarian option. However, if for any reason, your child requires a special diet, please let us know and the catering manager will do their best to ensure these requirements are met. Please click here to find out more about how Harrison Catering manages allergies and intolerances, as well as the appropriate form to complete.

Packed Lunch

Children need a balanced diet with a good variety of foods to ensure that all their requirements for growth and development are met.

The government has indicated that all school dinners must meet nutritional guidelines and these standards are met by the school kitchen; we ask that packed lunches meet the same criteria and ask for your co-operation when making your child’s packed lunch.

Items we would never expect to see in a lunch box include sweets, chocolate-coated foods and fizzy/sweet drinks.

We have a strict no nuts policy because we have pupils at Griffin with severe nut allergies.

If you require any advice, or support in preparing healthy packed lunches, please contact a member of staff who will be able to support you further.

Students who have difficulty with their school meal or packed lunch are helped by staff members. Should there be persistent difficulties, these will be discussed with you.
